In the heart of Dansoman, Prebbie Group turns the streets alive with pink ribbons, energy, and compassion as residents, health professionals, and local organizations gathered to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The initiative, organized by Implementers on behalf of the PREBBiE Group, a consortium made up of Techaide, Implementers, Shellbie Homes, Ecorefix, and Prebbie Properties, aimed to raise awareness, promote early detection, and extend support to survivors and patients alike.
Askice Studio had the privilege of joining this meaningful event, capturing every moment in vibrant photographs and inspiring video highlights. From the warm smiles of participants to the encouraging words of health professionals, our lenses told the story of a community united for a common cause, the fight against breast cancer.

Walking for a Cancer-Free Future
The Health Walk and Free Screening saw hundreds of residents taking part in a morning of exercise, awareness, and education. The walk symbolized more than fitness, it represented solidarity and shared responsibility in the fight against cancer.
Speaking during the outreach, Madam Beatrice, a nurse from Osudoku Hospital, emphasized the life-saving importance of regular checkups.
“Breast cancer is not contagious, and it can be cured when it is found early,” she said. “So, if you notice anything wrong with your breast, don’t be afraid; go for screening and get treatment.”
Her message echoed across Dansoman as participants queued for free public screenings and health education sessions.

Empowering Communities Through Awareness
Blessing Okam, Communications and Engagement Manager at Implementers, underscored the significance of the outreach, noting that the campaign was designed for everyone, men and women alike.
“We came to Dansoman to show love to people receiving treatment for breast cancer and to remember those we have lost,” she said. “No one should face this alone. Apart from creating awareness, we also want to support survivors and patients because cancer can happen to anyone.”
Participants were not only educated but also equipped with informative materials and souvenirs that reinforced key messages about early detection and community support.

Beyond the Walk: A Broader Commitment
The PREBBiE Group’s October campaign extended beyond the Dansoman event. Their initiatives included:
- “Setting the Record Straight” a social media campaign correcting breast cancer misinformation and myths.
- Support for National Awareness Programs including participation in the official launch of the 2025 Breast Cancer Awareness Month by the Vice President of Ghana on October 1, 2025.
- Awareness Themes centered around “Wear it Pink,” “Early Detection Saves Lives,” and the vision of a Cancer-Free Future.
